Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is injected subcutaneously in three approved sites:

Abdomen: at least 5 cm (2 inches) from the navel. It is the most accessible and popular site. Avoid areas with scars, bruises or irritation.
Thigh: front of the thigh (middle third). A good alternative if the abdomen is tender.
Upper arm: back of the arm (triceps area). May require help from another person to inject comfortably.

Within each site, vary the exact injection point by at least 2-3 cm from the previous one to avoid local irritation.

Injection site rotation is not a whim — it is a medical recommendation with clear reasons:

Prevent lipodystrophy: injecting repeatedly in the same spot can cause hardening or depression of the subcutaneous tissue, which affects how the medication is absorbed.
Consistent absorption: rotating sites helps each dose absorb predictably.
Less pain: tissue that has not been used recently tends to be less sensitive.
Better skin appearance: avoid accumulated marks, bruises or texture changes in a single area.
